Blacked out Kim has Moves

A couple weeks ago, I had one of those long days of drinking. (Hey, it happens.) My day started early and terribly. A girl I had been seeing and genuinely liked quite a bit gave me the “I don’t want a relationship” talk. That’s never a fun talk for the morning, or, in my case, near-noon when I woke up from my tequila filled previous evening.

Luckily, I had wine tasting plans to keep me busy! Wine is the best thing for an aching heart.

Drinking all day really is hard work. It takes stamina and many soldiers fall off in the battle. Several of us had tickets to a Latrice Royale show later that night so we had to push onward.

The show was at R Place and Latrice was absolutely fabulous. We were drunk but we were lively and by the time the dancing started, we were hitting that dance floor hard.

Unfortunately, we only made it until about 12:45am before needing to call it a night. I cabbed home and slept peacefully. I woke up the next morning assuming I had remembered everything and had survived the drinking battle.

While scanning my phone, however, I noticed that I called a new person at 12:45am. That was right as we were leaving and I had no recollection of meeting a new girl. The last time this happened, I tried to follow up and ended up getting stood up by a model. I was skeptical.

I texted my fellow soldiers and asked if they remembered me meeting a girl. Unfortunately, the report wasn’t fantastic. Neither remembered much. Both vaguely remembered a “cute” girl with brown hair.

That was good enough for me.

I texted her and asked if she’d want to go out. To my surprised, she said yes.

I arrived at the bar we agreed to meet at a little early than we had planned and informed the bartender of my predicament: I was meeting a girl who I had no recollection of meeting initially. He agreed to help me point out any single girl walking in.

After a bit of a wait, he gave me a head nod towards the door and I took my cue; I got up, hugged her and greeted her as if I definitely remembered her from the night before.

Good news: she was super attractive. She even got up to go to the bathroom at one point and the bartender congratulated me on a job well done.

She told me she didn’t remember much of our conversation the night before except one detail. Evidently, I asked her, “Are you with with that girl or just with her for tonight? Because I think you and I should hang out.” Luckily, she was just with that girl for the night and was impressed with this extremely forward move. At least enough to go out with me.

To be honest, black out Kim normally just wants to go to sleep and becomes totally silent. This time, she did alright. Without knowing it, I pulled myself out of sadness and jumped back on that dating wagon.

I have a second date scheduled with the girl next week. I don’t really know if it will amount to anything, but I do know I’m a resilient dater. Ladies, beware.

P.S. I told this story while in Cabo and it prompted the hottest girl at the table to come sit on my lap. Her name was Jessica and she was from Bellingham. What a coincidence! This was pre-dinner time. When we had to leave for dinner, Jessica from Bellingham asked if we could meet up later. I told her, “Okay, but can we make out now, just in case I don’t see you later?” and so we made out. This is what we call a two-for-one victory. Thanks Jessica!
